WORDsearch Bible App Reviews

I do not understand why the folks at WORDsearch cannot put out an app that works. This has been going on for several years now. When you try to scroll down it is jerky and moves around. It has lost any smooth operation. It is truly a shame because the desktop software is excellent. Somebody needs to do something.

This App is terrible! I deleted it long ago, but keep checking back...hopeful its gotten better. No such luck. Bring back the Wordsearch Classic and upgrade it. Now it wont even download my library. So logos and others are my mainstay when Im using my iPad.

Wordsearch Needs to learn some lessons from Logos Bible Software--the "Rolls Royce" of Bible software. I have been a loyal fan/user of Wordsearch software for many years (and Lord willing, will continue to be). I love the software for my desktop computer! However, when it comes to the IPad app, they are woefully lacking! "Shoddy and problematic" best describe the app. I would encourage the management to please allocate more funds to do whatever is necessary to fix and improve this app. With the IPad Pro being available in November, and the many who will use it for both sermon prep and delivery, you really need to get your act together, lest you get "left behind" like Biblesoft/ PC Study Bible did long ago! Just saying!

As the title says, very poorly designed. Also, the in app prices are outrageous.

Please fix the error of opening the first book on the list wherever I click. Thank you!

Ive been using this app as my Bible, which is now completely useless. No matter which Bible version I select, it opens the American Standard Version. Ive been a faithful WordSearch customer since the days when it was still called the Thompson HyperBible. While I do still enjoy the desktop software, the app is utterly useless right now. FIX THE BUGS!!!!!!!!! Im a pastor, and it is frustrating to not have full use of an app that I depend on.

Great desktop software but awful app. All you can use is the American Standard Bible. Please fix as many of us pastors depend on your product.

Just when I thought I was out of the woods and complimenting Wordsearch, up comes the enemy! Dont you want me to fight the enemy?The app does what it wants to do! Hello! Anybody at Wordsearch listening! The app does what it wants to do! I want it to do what I paid for it to do! Dont treat me like this, Word Search! My enemies are laughing at me and saying you cant get your stuff together! Send me some proof that you got your grove back together again! Waiting patiently!

The one feature that made this app worth the trouble you removed it! Why take away from an already feature limited app? Please fix.

I have used Wordsearch (Quickverse, Parsons) since DOS days. It has been and will be my main study tool on the PC. But it seems with every update this app looses functionality. As has been said, it not much more than just reader. And what is it with the constant "preparing video" block. I ask about pictures not resizing, I receive the explication that it was due to limitations of the OS and the device. Not so, many apps will expand pictures. Come on guys, you are better than this, get it together.

Perhaps I need to reinstall but this app is infinitely more frustrating than productive. Frozen screens, non responsive buttons and icons. For iPad, at least, its not worth my time.

I have used this app frequently for a while. I have the entire John Phillips collection and refer to it regularly. Now, every page I view is partially taken up by the HSCB and as far as I can tell this option cant be turned off. It really gets in the way. I do not like having the HSCB pushed on me.

This version has a lot of problems. Trying to run the split window often causes this App to lock up and/or crash. This version was not ready for release. What were the programmers thinking?!

This app would be a great app if it worked like other apps like esword, this app on some books and commentaries is very slow to almost non- responsive very frustrating to work with. I have had this on my iPad for a few years and this is the reason I bought the iPad, its always been this way. Although it works great on my pc and laptop, I wouldnt recommend this app for tablets though.

Wordsearch tries to be a top line Bible study program, but falls far short - nowhere near Logos or Olive Tree. Dont be fooled by the low price. Many of the low priced products cannot be used on tablets, only on PC. Every time I call them about this they say that soon they will be available on tablets, but they never are. Also on tablets the app is constantly crashing and freezing. The program has potential, but as of now it is not so good.

Ive been with wordsearch since around 2007 and have invested thousands in add on books. The ipad app was a long wait. Although it started off great but now the cross reference ability has been disabled. Its just not much good without this feature. Not to mention many of the books purchased for the desktop are not available for the ipad app. This was very disapointing. Wordsearch so far you have failed to compete with other ios bible apps. Spend a little time and effort and make this app what it could and should be. Im only giving two stars because its still very frustrating to use.

Im actually upgrading by 1 star because (even though there are still hurdles WS must get over), a few things are working a bit better. Still a ways to go, but Im hopeful and prayerful. Updated/Downgraded Review: Still disappointed - keeps getting worse. Links to Bible references are not working. The drag when pulling up books seems even longer now. The app is getting less and less useable. Please consider the money your loyal users have put into WSB and fix the app! Prior Reviews: Still working very poorly. The drag loading books is very bad – it is exceedingly slow. The links are still broken in many books – they do not take you to the requested location in the book. Books that used to load to the current day (such as devotionals) do not do that any longer. Even after you change it to the current day, if you leave that book and go to another, and then return to the 1st book, the date is something other than the current date. Books pull up out of alignment (you may only see half of the page because the other half is out past the left margin until you swipe up or down). When you pull a resource window up, the contents do not sync (even though it says its synced, it is not). I think this is especially frustrating for those of us who have invested a lot of money in building substantially large WordSearch libraries. Please hurry and get this app fixed. Im leaving my prior comments below as they still apply. Prior Review: Glitches are expected and normal sometimes, but this app is severely broken. Did you test before going live?? Please, please fix. It is unusable for me right now. It hangs up very badly, is extremely slow in retrieving books. Playing a video in a book doesnt matter if you cannot pull up the book or the location in the book you are trying to get to! The Table of Contents (pick any book) does not take you to the chapter you requested - it might be the book cover, a different chapter in the book than you requested and may not even open the book. Or it might take you to the book and chapter, and then automatically switch to another chapter!! Im sure there are more malfunctions that I just havent gotten to yet. Developers, I love you guys, but please quickly get back to your drawing boards and repair this already "at risk" app. AND please make sure it is adequately tested before going into prod. Id like to see it get better, not worse.

I have been a WS desktop user for years. I tried this app a while back and deleted it. After trying it again, I will delete it again. It is non-intuitive and slow. After downloading my books, you cannot filter to just the books you have downloaded. I cant figure out how to use the second pane, partly due to the ten second response time. This app needs a complete rewrite. Would like to view my desktop notes, bookmarks, and highlights.

Go with olive tree over this app! Unfortunately it seems they have all but quit developing this app. I love wordsearch software on computer. The app does not support hardly any purchased books. Virtually worthless if you have invested in a library of books on the PC and your looking to access those books on the ipad version. I had huge hope that this app would allow me to take my library with me everywhere I go. Stick with olive tree they have better support and are always coming out with commentaries, bible versions and other study materials to use with their software. UPDATE: I have kept this app for well over a year now in hopes it would get better. Im still using the olive tree app and have started making my book purchases through them. I wish they would place more time into developing this app as a lot of pastors and laymen are using mobile devices to study the bible these days. iPads are finding there way into more pulpits while laptops and desktops gather more dust. Word search please get this developed make improvements to compete with other serious bible study apps!

I love this app. I can easily access any book that I want. This is great!
